Christ Church Missoula is a Biblical covenant community founded upon Christ-centered covenant renewal worship, preaching and teaching of God’s Word, observation of the sacraments, community service & outreach, and a strong emphasis on family and Christian education. As a church of Jesus Christ, we are committed to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer (Acts 2:42).
Background
Christ Church Missoula was founded in December 2008 and began covenant renewal worship services in January 2009 as a mission church under the general oversight and jurisdiction of Christ Church of Moscow, Idaho. In the Fall of 2012, Christ Church Missoula was particularized to be a self-governing church.
Church Affiliation
Since there is “one faith, one Lord, and one Baptism” (Eph. 4:5), Christ Church Missoula is connected by the Spirit to all those who profess the Christian faith and are baptized into the triune name of God. Furthermore, believing it important to have a polity that connects us with other churches institutionally, we are a member church of Kuyper Presbytery within the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC).
Particular Emphases
Weekly covenant renewal worship which includes reading and preaching of God’s Word, singing of Psalms and hymns, corporate prayer, and the Lord’s Supper;
Teaching that is squarely in the reformed evangelical tradition, and that recognizes Christ’s lordship over all of creation and every aspect of our lives;
Raising our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord with particular emphasis on family discipleship and Christian education;
An optimistic view of history with the expectation that the gospel will gradually spread throughout the world and one day all nations will submit to Christ.
